I heart Faces Best Face Photo from May | People’s Choice Contest

For this month's  I Heart Faces Best Face Photo from May | People’s Choice Contest  I thought of this photo right away.

Our 6 year old begged to be a big brother. He made all sorts of promises to "help" with his little sister when I was pregnant. Of course, my husband and I assumed those promises would soon be forgotten, after all, he 6! Into Legos and learning to read, and babies do, well we all know what babies do.

But, we were wrong. This is one of his favorite things to do with his sister. Just lay on the floor with her and talk, play and try and get her to smile...and in the end, making me smile..and thrilled that my daughter has the big brother I never got to have. I envy her his protecting presence and her obvious tenacity to try and "take a swing" at her big brother even at 2 months old.

Oregon: Where It All Began

So, our real adventures began along the Oregon coast..a trip I'd done with my mom when I was a kid. When Liam was 3 I decided it was time to take the family on a two week road trip.  Best trip ever, btw. I highly recommend the trip to anyone wanting a BEAUTIFUL drive with lots of fun stuff to do along the way.

We started in Seattle, and went down to Astoria, Lincoln City, Bend, Bandon, then Crescent City CA., back up through the Willamette Valley and home.

Since I had JUST gotten my Cannon Rebel DSLR, I was excited to play with it. Allan, also decided to purchase a little Nikon point and shoot while we were down there.  Some of my favorite shots are from this vacation.  I took nearly 2000 shots, and while MOST of them aren't great.  There are a few that really turned out...or still make me smile to this day.

Meet the family.

Hi! So we are a family that has found that photography is GREAT hobby for all ages...and gives us something fun to do together.

Who are we? Well, there is me...Bethany, I'm mom to two great kiddos, and wife to a crazy Scotsman. I'm at home with the kids every day and love to design and take pictures whenever time permits.

That crazy scotsman that is my husband, is Allan. He's a cook by day, and wonder-dad the rest of the time. When he's not taking pictures with me, he's playing with our two little ones....

Then there's Liam our son. He's new to the photography circuit but at 6 years old has quite and eye for the composition! And he LOVES to take pictures of his little sister...

Last but not least is Kayleigh. The model of the family just now,  because at 2 months old, she's not quite able to hold a camera...well other than to eat and that's just a waste of a camera.
